China wants the Shanghai World Expo 2010 a success worldwide

The preparation of the Shanghai World Expo 2010 takes place smoothly and the Chinese government will do everything to make it a success, said Tuesday in Beijing Vice Premier Wu Yi Chinese.

She made the remarks during a meeting with Secretary General of International Bureau of Exposition (IBE) Vicente Gonzalez Loscertales.

Wu welcomed the increased cooperation between China and the IBE and appreciated the support of Loscertales preparations for China in recent years.

The Chinese government attaches great importance to the preparation of the Expo and all the competent authorities make efforts to ensure the success of the event, she said, adding that she hoped that the IBE and Secretary-General continue to offer their support.

Loscertales said the IBE and the organizing committee of Expo Shanghai had collaborated closely in preparing the event and had made good progress in building infrastructure.

Both parties continue to cooperate to make this exhibition a success and an unforgettable event, “he added.
